Talk therapy is research-based and effective. Here I offer you three of many many strategies to assist you in calming anxious nerves. Music, deep breathing, and journaling. Belt out your favorite song that lifts your spirit and hopefully worships our savior. Or take five minutes to sit still and take long, slow, and deep breaths from your diaphragm. Those deep breaths will distribute oxygen throughout every cell of your body, most notably your brain, relaxing your tense muscles and clearing your clouded thinking. The third suggested strategy is to take a few minutes to journal your thoughts and feelings. You don’t need a fancy book, just a blank sheet of paper and five quick minutes.
