Grow Forward As we age, we all grow. As we grow, we each get to determine how we grow.
We can either grow as an uncontrolled weed, or we can decide to grow forward as a pruned and well-cared-for plant. Weeds usually grow taller and faster than plants, but weeds are unrestrained and without purpose or direction. Weeds typically serve no particular purpose and can be distractions. In contrast, plants-when watered, fertilized, pruned regularly-grow in the direction of the sun from which they receive warmth and nurture. They grow forward.
That is what this website is about—resources that can nurture and assist you in growing forward. Be conscious and deliberate in your growth. Decide for yourself how you will present to the world—as a weed or as a plant? You decide.
Fix Your Eyes The idea of staying content at all times wherever you are in life is not an easy thing to accomplish. In Philippians 4:11, Paul not only encourages us to do just that, but he also models it for us. So often, it can be easy to become discouraged with the circumstances before us. Our troubles can seem to overwhelm us when we don’t remain in faith that God is looking out for our best welfare. Know that our present circumstances are not an indication of our future circumstances. We are told in II Corinthians 4:18 that, “while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”
